Tracing parents for Emma Bagshaw, Romiley Cheshire
« on: Sunday 23 April 17 12:22 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace the parents for Emma Bagshaw (Married Surname: Howard).

I have the marriage certificate of hers which took place on the 20th July 1874, she was 19 at the time - which means she was probably born in 1854 /55. Her father is listed as John Bagshaw and his occupation is a labourer.

I have located Emma Bagshaw, in 1971 but I am not sure it is her, she is a domestic servant so it does not give an indication of her parents names.

I have also found this record:

Name
Emma Bagshaw
Gender
Unknown
Christening Date
14 Sep 1854
Christening Place
St. Thomas, Heaton-Norris, Lancashire, England
Birth Date
19 Aug 1854
Father's Name
John Bagshaw
Mother's Name
Alice Bagshaw

However I am not sure if this is correct due to the Christening Place.

Anyone able to assist with my dilemma.

Thanks

Leigh-Ann

John 30
Alice 30
Hannah 7
Elizabeth 2
Thomas 3mths
children all bn Heaton Norris

I am wondering if this record is wrong and Emma is Hannah on the record - the GRO has birth registrations mmn Darwell for Emma, Elizabeth & Thomas but no Hannah
