So far we have found the following
Joined up 01/11/1869 at age of 14, , by 1863 his mother had died and his father had married again
1869 - 1872 on St Vincent
17/08/1878 on Patriarch arr Sydney  as Crew
28/07/1879 on Cambrian Princess arr Sydney
Hobson's Bay desertion publication 17/11/1880
All information gives his birthplace as Brighton and birth year 1855, so I know this is the right man, apart from 1891 being on census in Lambeth and 1901 on census as a lodger he seems to have disappeared,
The information from the newspaper says he emigrated with his parents 1866, , but my  Thomas Standen didn't, his father was still in England  till about 1874 and then he disappears.
I am still on his trail and hopefully he will appear

Have got one so far which shows some of his postings, I think he might have been a naughty boy at sometime, Ah Well!!!

I did trace Owen but there was no issue from that couple, they married late in life it seems
