Gee-Heffernan
« on: Wednesday 26 April 17 19:00 BST (UK) »
Great grandfather, Pierce Gee was married in Dungarvin to Mary Heffernan around 1860. They had 3 children, James, John, and Catherine. I cannot find any record of a birth for Pierce Gee. He has proven to be the most elusive ancestor I have, on all sides of my family. We show a death for him, we think it's him, in 1871 showing him to be 80 years old which means he was born in 1791. He died in Ireland so we don't want to confuse him with any of the Pierce Gees that happen to have moved to the states.

Any assistance I can get would be awesome. We are up against a wall here.

Thanks!

I have. I'm not finding anything. Maybe he wasn't born in Waterford at all. Unfortunately, no one knows where he was born.

Have you looked at Wills?

There's a John inheriting from his Uncle...

Welcome Ruth  ;)

The death certificate may help you. It would be worth purchasing as I don't think it is online.

 Family Search shows this:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVML-ZJB6
Pierce Gee, Ballymacart.

Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
