Hi Keyboard                                 witnesses were Mary Whealings    and   T Calvert.                   have no idea when Sarah died,  couldn't find her on 1911,  but she may have re-married,      and all i know of Michael  is from  the death entry   for 1905 in Sunderland aged 37.

was doing this for a friend who sadly passed away last week, so will just add all the info you kind people have found then hand it back to the family, so once again,   many thanks to all.

Anne.

British Army WWI Service Records for Frederick BENNETT shows a marriage date of 25 Aug 1906. Sadly, parts of the pages are missing and the wife's name is unclear. There is a child listed as being born Jan 26 1902 in Hartlepool. About all you can see on the record is that her middle name ends in *resa.

So....
WHEALING, ANN  TERESA      mmn CLARKE
 1902  M Quarter in HARTLEPOOL  Volume 10A  Page 195

Naturally,I can't find anyone in 1911.

Maureen

So this birth could be the daughter of Michael & Sarah J possibly?

Really a puzzle that has had me captivated!

Thanks Maureen,   you could well be right about the latest child, but as I only had the 3 from 1901 census, then i can't be sure, but it does look to be a distinct possibility,       however,       there is no way now of knowing, unless any other member of my friend's family has information which may come to light at some later date, but at least i have a bit more information than previously!!

many thanks again :)

Anne.

Thanks for added info on Frederick Bennet   Maureen/Keyboard before i hand it all over to my friend's family,            so it seems Sarah wed him very quickly after Michael died, no wonder there was no trace on 1911 with her surname as Whealing /Whelan, as she would have been as Sarah Bennett, will check that.          the marriage of Sarah Whelan/Frederick Bennett is listed as Sunderland Sept qtr 1906    and maybe more children too.

thanks again .      regards
Anne.
