Adobe help please
« on: Thursday 27 April 17 14:35 BST (UK) »
Its a long time since I have used Adobe but now I don't appear to be able to do anything.

I have a tree someone sent me as a PDF. I can open it but the problem is it is just one page and really to be able to read it, it needs to be about 6 pages tall and 1 wide. I cannot seem to do anything to let me alter the size so it will print over 6 pages. I am using Acrobat reader 5.0

(I tried Acrobat Reader DC but that appears to be a professional users software and requires a subscription to use it)

Any suggestions how to resolve this please
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is free, I use it. It is Acrobat Pro DC that requires a subscription

Well I have downloaded that and am back where I started. I open the file and it is on one page and I can not see how to stretch it over 2,3,4  or more pages. If I try to covert it to say Word that is when it asks to take out a subscription)

If it is on one page then it is frozen to 1 page isn't it??

You could try Zooming in and doing PrintScreens section by section.
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I didn't know that, but if that's the answer then so be it.

Thank you

Or you could select and snip it section by section and save them as .jpg and print.

Why can't you just print it as one page?  Is the print size then too small?

Thanks for the suggestion that is what I thought about doing.

Printing it on just one sheet makes the print too small to read, it really needs to be 6 pages tall for the print to be easily readable
