Wolverhampton Wanderers

Hi. I am hoping that there is a knowledgeable Wolves supporter who is able to help me trace the player in this picture. The picture was taken at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday FC during the 1950's. The player I am looking for is on the stretcher!

I appreciate that it isn't a fantastic picture of the player in question but I wondered if anybody would know this?

My grandfather was in the St Johns and week in week out attended both Bramall Lane and Hillsborough - whichever team was playing at home that week. My grandfather is the one holding the stretcher in the middle and attending to the injured player.

I appreciate any help than anyone can offer me.

There is a weekly local newspaper - the Black Country Bugle - which is full of local history:  there's always an emphasis on football, and in particular the Wolves.  You could try sending a copy of the picture to the Letters page.
