Is there anyone out there researching the family of John Sullivan (1838 - 1924) and his wife Elizabeth Sullivan nee Vincent (1852 - 1909)?
John Sullivan was born in Cobh, Ireland (previously Queenstown) and his wife was born in Camborne, Cornwall.
John Sullivan was a seaman and fought in the Maori Wars in 1866 and 1867 with the Wanganui Rangers before marrying Elizabeth Vincent at Lyttelton in 1869. After marriage they spent the rest of their life at Little Brenchley Road, Lyttelton.
Both are interred in the Lyttelton Catholic Cemetery, Christchurch.
Prior to his passing in 1924 John Sullivan appears to have spent the last four years of his life at Nazareth House in Christchurch.
They had a large family of 10 children:- Johanna, John, Elizabeth Mary (who became Mrs John Holmes Ellis), Ellen Jane, Michael Peter, William Joseph, Edward Cornelius, Thomas Leonard, Harold Mathew and Patrick Vincent.
