For both of her marriages the father is William. So still a puzzler I think, unless her second marriage was bigamous.

There is no puzzle

There are 2 Rose/Rosie Housego's.  One born 1892 and the other born 1905 - both in Paddington

The 1892 one married William Gilbey

The 1905 one married Cecil Piggott

No bigamy etc etc

Indeed, CaroleW  :)  A small amount of digging demonstrates straightforwardly that, despite various coincidences as to name and place, they are separate people born over a decade apart.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your help. My Rose Housego is definitely the one born in 1905 and thanks to you all I have gone back to 1825 so far.
Best wishes Quester
