1861 census
King St, Escomb,RG9/3707 folio 8 pg 10
John Jones head widower bricklayer b. Glam, Bridge End
David son 20 iron baller iron worker b. Dowlas
William son 17 pudler irion worker b. Dowlas
Ann dau 13 b. Cwmavon
Edward son 11 b. Cwmavon
Gwenllian? dau 7 b. Mon, Abercarn
Thomas son 4 b. Durham, Witton Park
Margaret Thomas mother-in-law widow 81 b. Glam, Irwin?
Anne Thomas servant 41 b. Glam, Merthyr?

looks like the enumerator was having trouble with Welsh names

1851 Merthyr Row, Michaelstone super Avon, Glam HO107/2462 folio 294 pg 51
John Jones head mar 38 mason b. Bridgend
Ann wife 30 b. Merthyr
David son 10 H??ker at rolls ? b. Merthyr
John son 9 mason fender? b. Merthyr
William son 6 b. Merthyr
Ann dau 3 b. Michaelstone
Edward son 1 b. Michaelstone
Margaret Jones mother-in-law widow 69 annuitant b. Aberdare

mother-in-law's name is dittoed as Jones but think this is error and should be Thomas as per 1861 census. There are possible birth registrations for children with mother's maiden name as Thomas.

glad that worked out!

other bits I found when searching before

Robert & family in 1841 in Panteg
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7Q9-J1D

I think Mary's maiden name is Williams, and possible parish marriage 13 Oct 1828 in Trevethin for Robert Jones & Mary Williams both otp, witnesses John Williams & Jane Jones.
