Based on the great information you have found it looks as if he travelled the country as a coachman and was never at home with his wife and family when the census was taken in Newborough.

Hi Geoff-E,

After looking at the census's that glencare kindly gave me I agree with you about the Joseph in Norfolk being single.I am thinking it is possible that the married one living in London (could be ??) a possibility as the first children William b 1869 Holmforth Yorks and George were born in Carlton Yorks a coincident? I will try and look in the Yorks area to see if there is a birth or anything to find about Joseph William.
