I am also having trouble finding Joseph William Wards marriage to a Mary ? the last child that I have found was Harriet born 1881 Newborough Northamptonshire so he was alive in 1880/1 and poor Jane & family was in the workhouse in Peterborough in 1881 :(.Mary had the other children William 1869,George 1871 and Joseph Edward 1875  all born Yorkshire so they certainly travelled around but oddly Joseph William Ward is not showing on the census's 1881/91 in Newborough Northamptonshire but he died before 1901.Talkabout the invisible man!!!.

Where have you got Mary from? 

Mother is Jane on census and her maiden name was Harris according to the birth records for George - Joseph Edward - Harriet.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

There was a 33 year old John W WARD in Kensington in 1881. (unmarried, annuitant)

Looking for a Jane Harris before marriage

1851 census born Newborough Northants

Jane Harris 8 daughter of Edward and Harriet so that fits with using those names for children

Edward Harris 38
Harriet 36
Caroline 9
Jane 8
Roseanna 6
William 3
Jane Welby 15 niece

No Jane in 1861 and Edward is widowed

Can't find Jane and son William in 1871 either

Edward Harris married Harriet Fitzjohn Jan-Mar 1841 Peterborough District.

Baptised at Crowland, Lincolnshire:-

William - 14 Mar 1847

Sorry to everyone for delay in replying to you as I had to go out and when I came on site today I found all these replies.

Sorry for typing Mary instead of Jane (Senior moment!!!!) but thankyou for correcting me and also for finding her maiden name Harris much appreciated as that explains why my O.Hs.uncle was given Harris in the middle of his name John Harris Ward.
