Margaret a e Patey married Kenneth dicks in 1952 and was born 1932 totnes but I can't find her parents

Mother's maiden name is Roe. 
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I wonder if the mother's surname was mispelt at the time of the birth?

There is this marriage on FreeBMD??

Is it possible that Margaret is still alive?  I ask because if that is the correct marriage, then the 1939 Register has a blanked out entry within the household.   :-\
