This one has the words "Received by" after/ in place of " Baptised by". There may have been a prior baptism of Jessie, either private or another denomination.

Richard Smith was baptised 26 September 1859 at St Peter, Liverpool .
On the original image every baptism (16 in total ) is on the same day by the same official.
I`ve not been able to look at the pages either side.

 Why would that be  ?

Why not?  Even these days, at my church, when there are baptisms there are usually a number at once, like 3 or 4 or 6 - not 16 thank goodness.  As they are done after Mass these days, we'd all be sitting around for a long time  :P  :P  :P

It's several pages of 16 on one day and similar numbers on days before and after Dawn.
It must have been a quick splash or dip  :)

Some city parishes covered areas with thousands of people in them.

Statistically speaking, it would be more remarkable if there were more days with none or only a couple of baptisms on.
