Can John Lewin COX be placed on the 1841?!  I cant see him.

I think the family is in Pike Street but the father is not there:

Elizabeth Cox 40 (?) FWK
Alice Cox 18
John Cox  13
Emma Cox  5

The Alice Ann Lewin Cox (d/o John Lewin Cox), who married in 1842 gave her address as Pike Street, so it looks a good bet that this is the correct family.

Great pickup Jomot.

I was looking for the current Pike St the other day on G**gle Maps but I cant Locate it.  Must be near Dryden St.  Can you assist Jomot?

That 1841 also lists Elizabeth as 'married' but no husband in the house.  Chances are!!!

Gotta do my 8 hours now and then 10 days OFF...

I found Pike St, now under a building.

Can anyone assist with the death of Emma SPENCER at Whetstone Leics in Dec 1919.  She was the wife of James.  Anything to mention her parents in the newpaper, etc or if their 1855 marriage confirms her father as John Lewin COX.

Also Elizabeth DEWIS, wife of William who died at Leicester in 1860.  Elizabeth and Emma 'might' of been sisters.

Many thanks,

bitzar.

Her marriage just gives her father as John Cox, FWK, and her address at the time was Denman Street.  Emma & James both signed X

V interesting.....

Only if its not tooooo much trouble could you check how Elizabeth COX describes her father on her marriage to John HINKLEY in Q1 1843 and then again as Elizabeth HINKLING to William DEWIS in Q1 1845?!

Many thanks,

bitzar.

As jomot isn't on-line at the moment:

1843 - Framework knitter

I can't see an image for the second marriage.
