Not quite sure, are you saying you think the Will of William Russell of Skipwith is Sarah Hood's (Russell) father??? I think this William Russell (born illegitimately to Ann Russell (spinster). He married Elizabeth Chatty in Skipwith. His daughter Mary (born 1780) married Thomas Burton (a butcher) and lived in Skipwith. He had another daughter Elizabeth (but can't find her marriage - at this stage - assumed she married a Wilkinson).
Please do correct me if you are sure he is "your" William Russell
Thanks for replies.
When I saw the Inland Revenue Register, I wondered, if the two families were linked to each other, by another marriage.
My Sarah Russell's father William Russell married a Mary Burton.
The daughter of William Russell of Skipwith, Mary Russell must have married a Burton, to become Mary Burton.
When I saw Wilkinsons in the Inland Revenue Register as Grandchildren and the Mary Burton daughter reference, I wondered if William Russell of Skipwith and his Son William Russell of Leeds, were linked to my Russell lot, by another marriage between the two families.
Perhaps the similar surnames, are just co-incidental.

Mrs H and I need to get up to Preston and see if the Lord Petre, Selby documents confirm who George Hood really was, when he took over Gibson's premises.
I have asked Leeds Special Collections, re the reading out of Sarah Hoods 'Not in Membership' Nov 1879 burial at the York Meeting in 1880 and if the records also give any indication as to why George Hood's burial was conducted by them, as a 'Not in Membership'.
Hannah Nuby's (Mother of Chester Newby) Probate Bundle and another Probate of Richard Hood of Habton (d.1802) holding property and lands at Slingsby in 1760 in Trust for Thomas & Mary Jackson, a Richard Clark mentioned and later a Mr Robert Cook is the Solicitor involved.

Sarah Russell a basket maker gives me the impression, that her family are fairly industrious too.
