Joseph COX deaths... Syston and Leicester pre 1844.
« on: Wednesday 03 May 17 13:45 BST (UK) »
Hi team

Am trying another angle...

I've found that Joseph was from Syston and married there in 1792 to Alice LEWIN.  Their last child that I can find was baptised in 1798 so I guess I'm looking for deaths between 1797 and 1844.

I have a few options but there must be more:

Jul 1842 Market Bosworth.
Jul 1843 Leicester.
Jan 1844 Leicester.
bd 1832 Foston aged 77.

Any further info on these and any other possibilities greatly appreciated.  I have his occupation as 'Inspector of Taxes'!

Many thanks,

bitzar.

Oh thanks.  I didn't know that we could do that now.

So he is not any of them!  How could I find out more about the Foston burial?  Maybe looking for the wife, Alice, may be easier first.

Many thanks,

bitzar.

Thanks for the burial info Rosie99.

RE the GRO, I knew about the MMN on the birth but not the age on the death.

I think I'm so close to a breakthrough but I need this death and mention of a occupation.  Maybe a will! Yeah...

So this Foston Hall lot look like they have been there a while!  Appears to be another family as mine def say, of Syston.

Is Foston Hall in Derbyshire anyways?!

There is a rather odd death notice for Alice in the Leicester Journal 25 March 1836 referring to her as Alice, wife of Mr Cox, some time since of this town, and daughter of Mr John Lewin, late of Syston.
