Is it possible to flip it up and look at the back of the metal?

The centrepiece looks very much like a WW2 era British military button.

Ill take a shot and post the back.  I have found a couple of examples such as a brooch with the same design, but no specific information. It has a military feel to it if that makes any sense.
The center has the royal coat of arms of Britain, has the crossed swords and the cross flory, I believe.  I just can not seem to attribute this design to a specific military unit, family, etc.

Hallo again.

As many horse brasses were generic, and some were custom-made but unofficial, I was wondering if the centrepiece was a real button.  This could indicate that it was a "special order" for a rider with a military connection rather than the whole design being an official emblem.

All the best
Philip
