The reason I thought he could have died in Glasgow is that I felt he might have been taken to Hospital before the Ship left port.   

If you apply simple logic though, if he had been taken ashore and died in Glasgow, you would not have found any entry in the Deaths at Sea register, as even if his later death was as a result of his time in the water and complications thereafter, had he been ashore at the time death occurred, then it would not have been a 'death at sea'.
