Rosie, to your reply no. 4,
I have found the baptisms for Sarah, Elizabeth, Eliza, George and Charles, all in Lincolnshire. I am not sure about John's ,and the youngest son Amos was born around 1832 in Ontario, Canada as this is shown on the Canadian Census.
Thank you for your efforts to help me...is there any other information you need?

Yes, thanks, I did see that baptism in Wrawby.  I did not  think that was the correct William, with occupation Butcher, and also his sister, Eliza was born in January, of 1824 in Lincolnshire, and this       is July, 1824.  I think my William was a labourer/carpenter. When he died in 1867, he was the owner of a carpenter shop, and I noticed other baptisms for William Barnard the Butcher and wife Ann, and the names of those children did not match the names of our family.  My 2x great grand-father was John Barnard and he and wife are buried near my parents, and also his brother George is buried there as well. On John's grave monument, which I do not have in front of me, by the age stated there he would have been born around 1821 or 1822, but I have not been able to find it.  I am trying to catch on to RootsChat, pretty new at it.  Thanks again.

I thank everyone who has been trying to help till now to find out who the parents are of my 3x ggf William Barnard
I thought I would give some more details .

William Barnard was born approx. 1790-1792 . His gravestone says he was a Native of Yorkshire. He came to Canada with five of his six children approx. 1830-1831 and settled near Toronto, Canada.

I believe his wife's name was Ann, but unsure as to her last name, as there are several William Barnard's who married an Ann.

His children were:
1. Sarah Barnard born Bottesford, Lincolnshire 1817.
2. Elizabeth Barnard born May, 1819 in Cleatham, Lincolnshire
3. John Barnard, my 2x great grandfather born 1822 ?  Wrawby, Lincolnshire but cannot find his birth registration except for a baptism record for July, 1824
4. Eliza Barnard born January 1824 in Cleatham, Manton, Lincolnshire
5. George Barnard born June 27, 1826 Thornton-Curtis, Lincolnshire.
Note: his obituary from Ontario Canada from 1911 says he was born in Lancashire, but I cannot find that.
6. Charles Barnard born 21 December, 1828 in Thornton-Curtis, Lincolnshire
-----all these children were born to parents William Barnard and Ann?

Another son, Amos Barnard was born in approx, 1832 in Ontario, Canada
If anyone can help me discover who William Barnard's parents were, I would appreciate it. I have located a birth registration for a William on January 10, 1790 father's name John, no mother named.
Birthplace Ellerton by Bubwith, Yorkshire.
Thanks again for your help.

I think this is the best bet for William, all the bmd's are around Ellerton.

John Barnard 1768-1801 married Mary Brownbridge,(Bornbridge) 1764-1798. Married 1783.

They had 5 children   Margaret 1784
                               John 1787
                               William 1790
                               Mary 1791
                               Robinson 1793

Margaret 1784 married John Richardson in 1803
John 1787 married Mary Ann Cay in 1809
William 1790 married Ann Corney in 1813
Mary 1791 married George Scott in 1834
Robinson 1793 married Ann Thompson in 1826

William and Ann had 2 children    Thomas 1814
                                               William 1815

William and Ann had 2 children    Thomas 1814
                                               William 1815

It may be worth looking at the parish of Aughton where the marriage of William to Ann Corney took place and the subsequent baptisms of Thomas & William

From the film no 919385 (familysearch) it looks as though these two children were still in Aughton in the 1830's when they married. Would their parents have left them behind  :-\

I think that Thomas 1814 married Esther Annakin in 1834, there is a marriage for Thomas Barnard or Barnett in Aughton 15 Apr 1834.    Also
William 1815, William Barnard to Harriett Beetleson. 05 Feb 1836 Everingham. Thomas Barnard was a witness.
It is quite possible that William abandoned his wife and children in Yorkshire and moved to Lincolnshire where he had a bigamous marriage to Ann Brown in 1816, Bottesford.
