Welcome to Rootschat  :)

There is a birth registration for William Leonard Clark in the Brentford Registration District in the September quarter of 1905.  Mother's maiden name is Griffin.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

A tree on Ancestry has William Leonard as being born in Pokesdown, Bournemouth, and marrying Dorothy Evelyn Plumb in 1930.

Added:  Birth registered in Christchurch Registration District - June quarter 1905 - as William Leonard ClarkE - mother's maiden name is Rolls.

The Christchurch Registration District birth - William Leonard Clarke in June quarter 1905, with mother's maiden name of Rolls is him then.  :)  I'd be very inclined to purchase that birth certificate.

Your great grandfather Leonard Clark born 1883 in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, mother's maiden name INGS.

William CLARK and Jane INGS married in Fordingbridge in 1881.

Leonard Clark and Bessie Rolls married in Christchurch registration district in 1903, this is the district for Pokesdown.

The family lived in Paisley Road, Pokesdown, with William and his siblings Percy, Nellie, Winnifred and Alfred.

All this indicates the birth BumbleB found in Christchurch is the correct one.

William and Dorothy are on the 1939 register with one child.  The date of birth for William would normally make the registration appear in the March quarter but it could have been registered late and therefore appear in the June quarter.

If you can access the 1939 register have a look and see what you think.

By the way how did you arrive at Leonard being William's father?
