There is a birth registered in the Bournemouth District - September quarter 1926 - for Gerald I Plumb, mother's maiden name of Plumb.  Is this him?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Archbell - anywhere, any date

His birth cert should show the address where he was born

Looks like his parents married in the Dec 1/4 of 1930.

If you look on the web-site childrenshomes.org.uk and from the home page click on Magdalen homes and then go to Dorset there is a list of possible homes in Bournemouth.
But as Carole said I think the only way you will find out is a birth certificate-

Realistically - with more than one to choose from - how would you know which was the right one?

If you want to know for sure - the only way is via a copy of his birth cert
