Thanks so much, Heywood.  Unfortunately the page for the wills before 1858 does not appear to work.  However, it gives me lots of other things to look through.

I doubt that they would be online - perhaps Lancashire or Manchester records office.
You could email Oldham to see if they can help.

I found the Cheetham/Dyson family who seem to have moved to Middleton from Chadderton according to baptisms.
Coincidentally there seems to have been a Simeon Dyson in St Leonard's parish, Middleton with baptisms and a burial in the area. From the dates, would be a contemporary of Jane.
Simeon Dyson looks to have been a family traditional name. It does seem to be very difficult for you to get evidence. A pity there was no place given on the marriage certificate.

Description   Testator: Simeon Dyson

Occupation: labourer

Burial was at Shaw Chapel. Simeon Dyson, of High Crompton, a Shopkeeper.

I found the burial on Ancestry - Lancashire CoE Records.

I don't know about the will.
