Well done - good teamwork!

Seems like the church has lost its spire, and isn't even a church now - I've found references to it as the Landmarc Restaurant and the Halo Nightclub. There's a modern view about halfway down the Flickr page linked to above, and a couple more here:

Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

It is currently the Halo nightclub, (previously Landmarc Restaurant Theatre). The spire was removed from the church in 1947 having been damaged during WW2, so the picture here is pre war, although I think it looks that anyway. Bobby's in the photo received a direct hit as did many buildings around this area during a targetted bombing and strafing raid in May 1943. It may come as a surprise that somewhere like Bournemouth could have been targetted in this way.

Well certainly a case of a picture being worth a thousand words!  If you saw the original, you'd probably throw it out, but just look at the history behind it. And people wonder why I do this!

Thank so much Arthur and Simon for the additional background information.

Not sure how I feel about a church being a nightclub, but then I guess it does help preserve the building that may have been torn down otherwise.
