Not entirely sure, but I have photos of my father in a similar bathing 'costume' in the 1930s.

........probably not important, just me being pedantic, but the "truck" is not a truck but the rear of a 1920's saloon/ sedan... like a Chevvy or Buick etc., (the straight bumper has me stumped).

I've playing around with 'smoothing' tools. I think one's an improvement on my previous attempt.

@ Handy, just named it for the file reference, but I think your right about which type it is. I sent a message to gma to see if she remembers it.-year/make/color- but she hasn't responded yet.

@ Wiggy, that puts my gma around 25-30 y/o which seems fitting.

@ Mike M, the first thing I go to for smoothing is a very low smudge tool- 1-5%, with very short back and forth or circular strokes. And only on a flat surface, i.e. cheeks, forehead, or zoom in close with a very tiny brush for facial features . The blur tool works well also without the threat of misshaping but stay away from the facial features, i.e. eyes, jaw line, brow. Another is a low opacity clone stamp, again 1-5%. There are other ways of course, and it is certainly situational, but usually what I try first. Note, sometimes it will make clothes look too much like plastic.  I Attached a snipit where  I used the smudge tool. If you looks very close you'll see that it is rather blotchy, and cartoonish; another con in using it.

If a task is once begun never leave it till it's done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all.

The smooth tool needs to be used judiciously doesn't it - easy make faces look 'plastic', if overdone, and can smooth out character and age appropriate wrinkles!  (Not saying you have, just making a comment about the smooth tool and its use.)
