Gravestone info - Joseph Collins , All Hallows' Tottenham
« on: Thursday 11 May 17 19:48 BST (UK) »
Hello
If anyone is going to  All Hallows' Church cemetery in Tottenham ,
I would be very , very grateful if Joseph Collins
1774 - 1858 grave can be found and photo taken

His wife was Sarah Maria Collins

I unfortunately cannot go as I'm overseas :(

Many thanks
Simon

There's a link here for surviving memorial inscriptions but I can't get Mick Bruff's page to load

https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/Tottenham_All_Hallows,_Middlesex_Genealogy

Only the wealthy or those of high standing in the community tended to have headstones. Even today they are hugely expensive.

Thanks Bookbox, I tried the wayback machine but it didn't find it.

There's also this at LMA

Transcript of monumental inscriptions in the church and churchyard of All Saints [sic, for All Hallows?], Tottenham; with pen and ink drawings by Edward Hodges

You have to visit, find a friend or pay them to do it.

Or view it online after an internet search

Mick's archived site makes reference to the work and seems to suggest that very few headstones survive and even Mr Cansick couldn't identify them.
