Where was John Bevan in 1851
« on: Friday 12 May 17 17:42 BST (UK) »
Can someone please do a look-up for John Bevan, born Llangyfelach, living in Gelligaer, in 1851 from the following details?  On the 1841 census for Mynyddyslwyn, John Bevan is enumerated age 40, collier, not born in county.  In the same household are Elizabeth (34), William (13), Ann (10), John (8), Sarah (6) Henry (4) and David (1).   There was another 2 children added to family Thomas (1843) and Mary (1846).  His place of abode I am particularly interested in and I would be very grateful for a copy of the 1851 census.

Thanks in advance

Hi Rosie
Yes that's the family; found the same earlier but no address of where they were living.  I would appreciate a copy of the census form.

Pontarpenagam appears to be one of the early variants of the name of the settlement that became Pengam.

The properties next on the census were called Green Meadow, followed by two families at Cascade. A quick google suggests they may be in the area by Pengam railway station
