After requesting a marriage certificate with references obtained from Free BMD I received this reply - "Persons requested are on this page but not married to each other". Can anyone offer an explanation please?

FreeBMD show the people on the same page in the register but that doesn't mean they are married to each other. Can you give us more detail please?

There are eight names on that page;  do you definitely know that James Price married Elizabeth Jones?  He could have married one of the other three women named.
