In your reply #7, you added, 'I am not sure why that place would have been mentioned unless it was where the Treibers had once lived'.

The second line in italics of my reply #6 translates as 'Johann Leonhart Treiber, citizen and butcher of Markt Beroltzheim', i.e. he was residing in the town at the time.

Have you determined the relationship between the tailor and the butcher?

Yes, they were indeed father and son. The grandfather was also named Leonhard, but I don't yet know if he also had the name Johan.

We also found the mother's famly, Heckels and Löschengrubers, the latter of which came to Markt Berolzheim as "exulants" from Peuerbach, Austria around the 1630s.

I may look for a few more details on the grandfather, but I am close to closing the book on this branch of my family. Quite a satisfying feeling.  :)
