Hi coola2,

Here are some immigration records for Queensland - those with assisted passage between 1848-1912.   There are several entries for Mary McKenna's but most are after the desired time.   There is one for a Mary McKenna who arrived in 1872 on the Polmaise aged about 20.

Already noted from BDM Index QLD, these births to Mary McKENNA

1874 B16876 Mary Catherine McKENNA  parents - /Mary McKENNA
1876 C81      Emma Theresa  McKENNA  parents - / Mary McKENNA
1878 C4369 BOURNE George Thomas  parents BOURNE George / Mary Turner McKENNA
1880 C4992 BOURNE Harriett Amelia Maud parents  BOURNE George / Mary McKANNA

From death certificate for Mary BOURNE nee McKENNA d. 1900 -
Emma 22 years
George 21 years
Harriet 20 years
Mary Sarah 18 years

The informant, death certificate 1900, seems to know a lot about Mary BOURNE. Assuming the birth order on the death certificate is correct, does that mean that-

Mary Catherine McKENNA. b. 1874 has died by 1900?.
Mary Sarah is born ~ 1882, and if her birth was registered in QLD, it is not McKENNA or TURNER or BOURNE?

You have the birth certificate for Emma Theresa McKENNA, b. 1876, which suggests that you are researching this person?

What marriage and death details do you have for Emma Theresa?

This for Mary Sarah BOURNE, from BDM QLD Index -

marriage
1898   C1008   BOURNE Mary Sarah   m.   BROOMHALL Thomas Charles

births
1899   C5387   BROMHALL Lewis James  parents   Thomas Charles / Mary Sarah BOURNE
1900   C5787   BROMHALL George Thomas   parents   Thomas Charles / Mary Sarah BOURNE
1903   C4892   BROMHALL Ruby Carney parents   Thomas Charles / Mary Sarah BOURNE

1922   C4974   BLESSINGTON Emma Kathleen / Kathline  parents Saunders/Mary Sarah BOURNE
1922   C4975   BLESSINGTON Mary Elizabeth    parents Saunders/Mary Sarah BOURNE
1922   C4976   BLESSINGTON john                  parents Saunders/Mary Sarah BOURNE

marriage
1920   C306    BOURNE  Mary Sarah m.  BLESSINGTON Saunders

death
1943   C4402   BLESSINGTON Mary Sarah   parents BOURNE George / McKENNA Mary

What witnesses names do you see for marriage certificate, 1876, McKENNA - TURNER?

There is no connection between Taylor - McKenna.
Mary McKenna never married James Elliott so she continued her life as Mary Bourne and gave her daughter the surname of Bourne not Elliott. Do not know why her Death Certificate shows father as George Bourne. Maybe she did not know who her true father was
Saunders Blessington who married Mary Sarah Bourne is my grandfather that is why I am trying to locate Mary McKenna's arrival.

At my reply #7 I incorrectly used the name TAYLOR, which I have now corrected to be TURNER.

Do you have the name of witnesses on the McKENNA - TURNER marriage certificate.

".....Do not know why her Death Certificate shows father as George Bourne. "

Who's death certificate are you is this......Mary Sarah BLESSINGTON?

The amount, and accuracy of information on a death certificate will depend on what the informant knows, and / or chooses to disclose. Who is the informant for Mary Sarah's death certificate?

Mary Sarah marries as BOURNE, so it could be that her marriage certificate shows George BOURNE as her father, and that marriage certificate information was used for her death certificate.

Continuing with the matter of death certificates, James ELLIOTT appears later in Mary McKenna's life, so might not know what children she has had, or her marital history. I think there are possibly more births / deaths of children of Mary McKenna to find.

Can you list all information on death certificate of James ELLIOTT  d. 1937.

My reply #5 - Can you consider this please -

You have the birth certificate for Emma Theresa McKENNA, b. 1876, which suggests that you are researching this person?

What marriage and death details do you have for Emma Theresa?
