Leslie Aubrey HOWARD, RAF
« on: Saturday 13 May 17 13:30 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am attempting to research this chap as he was the flight engineer on a bomber I am interested in. Hopefully some kind soul could can help me connect the dots.
From what I've gathered he was born Luton the September Qtr of 1914, mother's maiden name Wilson.
In June 1945 his home address was 12 Hampton Road, Luton, Beds.
I have an unconfirmed report saying he was deceased 1996.

Grateful for any help or pointers.

There is the birth of a possible child of Leslie and Edith Howard in Mar Q 1938 Luton.  I will not name the child here as they may still be living.  You can find it by searching FreeBMD.

There is only one birth registered in Luton to a Howard/Jenkins union in the relevant time period.

Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

The National Probate Register lists Leslie Aubrey Howard died 18 September 1996.

The 1939 Register shows Leslie and Edith at 72 Hampton Road, Luton.  Leslie is a motor lorry driver.

My thanks to Cath, Jool, Galium and John for all this great gen.

I followed his daughter after Jool's advice and see she has a son. So there the trail leads to next.

It appears the daughter born Mar 1938 married in Luton in Mar 1957 & the couple lived at 15 Buckwood Avenue Luton from 1960-1969 & then at 203 High Street, Leagrave from 1970-1986. As per FreeBMD there's a likely birth of a son at Luton in Dec 1960 & he is at the latter address 1978-1984.

I'm not naming them here but I'm sure you can find this out easily enough
