It's a pain when people don't post trees. The sharing seems to be all one-way.
Estimated 2nd - 4th cousin means that you're looking for a common ancestor at GGP to 3xGGP. Since you have known illegitimacy at that sort of level I'd say it's worth pursuing but it might be an uphill struggle.
If it's proving difficult to get names out of your contact, try locations. Just as useful if not more so. Also do a google search on their email and any names you do know, in case they have a tree posted elsewhere.
To put your 63/42 into perspective, my father has a proven 4th cousin (est 2-4C) who shares a total of 83 with longest block 53 and my mother a proven 1st cousin once removed (est 2-4C) with total 125 longest block 52.
