STEVENS- Bristol baptism lookup

Could someone lookup a baptism of William STEVENS born c 1829 ish,son of Richard, in Bristol.

Trying to confirm/eliminate if this is my GGGrandfather.

William Stevens born c 1829,son of Richard, came to South Australia before 1849.

Found documents of a William Stevens who arrived in SA that stated he was born in Bristol.
There is another man ,Henry STEVENS who stated born Bottle (Bottlesford?) in Wiltshire in 1818 who came to SA.

Looking at Family Search for anyone born in Bottlesford, this includes a John Strong born 1832 in Bottlesford on Family trees and has links to the census in North Newton.


On the 1841 census, North Newton, District 8 is only 9 pages (so a small hamlet)

On old newspaper in Australia ,it had that a Henry Stevens was born 1818 in Bottle,Wiltshire.

Im actually concentrating on William Stevens. He was in Australia by 1849 when he married & did not go back to England. As I said ,I found document in SA for a possibility for my William which said that he was born in Bristol.

Family christian names can be very helpful, (as it was and is now) a common practice for names to follow through generations.

May be "red herring" but you never know given the Marriage of William/Rosa at Willunga 1849

Could Alice be a Sister of William.

If you go through the familyhistorysa website it is worth checking other Stephens/Stevens entries.
There are a couple of others that were in Willunga around that time.

Thanks. I have all the records from South Australia for the family. Just trying to find out if the William Stevens who said he was born in Bristol (from document in SA), was my William.

With a name like William, eliminating people can be just as helpful.

Sorry I cant find anything for William with on-line resources born c 1825-1832 in Glous or Somerset (Father Richard)

You can rule out Alice Stephens being related.
She married Henry Waters 9 July 1842   Crowan, Cornwall. Her Father was James, Occp Miner.
