Inquest for Anna Carabine
« on: Tuesday 16 May 17 20:44 BST (UK) »
Thanks to members on this site I have learned a lot more about my Great Aunts, but one in particular now stands out as No cause of death was given, but her death certificate indicated an inquest pending.
She passed away on 20th June 1948 and I didn't know if someone would be able to find an account of the inquest in local papers please.
I'd always heard that one of the aunts had committed suicide and I'm now wondering if Anna/Annie might be the one.
Many thanks

For information purposes - Anna Carabine passed away 335 Shedaker Street in Philadelphia - 20 June 1948 - informant was her sister bridget/Della Carabine - Burial was 24 June 1948 Holy Scep. Montgomery County PA.

Further info here - http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=769488.18

There may be RAOGK volunteers for Philadelphia on this list which might be able to help and worth a try.

I have found a second death certificate which gives the immediate cause of death as coronary arteriosclerosis due to acute Coronary Thrombosis - 28 June 1948

No idea why this certificate is dated after the first which gave a burial date as 24 th June 1948

The inquest most likely is not public record, although there might be a story about it in the newspaper.  The most likely reason for the additional burial date is that they might have needed to do an autopsy.

Or perhaps the second death certificate was dated after the burial date.
