It wasn't ex-army or a Triumph.

The photo was taken before 1956 , we think it was new when bought.

The registration number is Govan, pre 1935.

Well I did wonder where my father would have got the money for a new one  :)
He was born 1928 , The photo would be about 1953 after he left the Army.

Afraid I can't help with the bike. To the uninitiated, one looks much like another ;D

My dad had the one pictured below in the mid 50s and I know that was a 1949 Norton 500. It must have been those years '54-'57, with my brother and I as snug as  bugs in the sidecar, whilst mom and dad were dressed in the obligatory huge 'leathers', dad with the gauntlets but still soaked in the rain, that determined that I would always want four wheels with a roof!!!

Many happy times were had however, with occasional trips to the coast and most Sundays spent in the Peak district. One memory springs to mind of a rear tyre puncture, the AA man came out and stuffed it with grass from a nearby field to get us home!! Halcyon days!! ;D ;D
