Levi HICKLING - can anyone help?

Hi!  I am trying to pin down the parents/siblings of Levi Hickling. 

According to various census returns he was born 1829, 1831 or 1833, and in either Hathern or Shepshed (also known as Sheepshed), Leicestershire. 

I have managed to locate various parish records online with various Hickling people in them around the right times, but I just cannot find any mention of my Levi Hickling.

He married Mary Herrod in 1850 and had several sons.  He spent most of his life living in Nottingham and died in 1904.

I would really like to find out who his parents and/or siblings were!

Can anyone help???

Who was his father on marriage cert?

Have you got him on 1841 with family?
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

As lizdb says you really need the marriage to start with to find his fathers name then you can look for a marriage for his father and work back from there  :)

If you are lucky a Hickling may have witnessed the marriage and will lead to a brother or sister.

Hi!  I didn't buy the marriage cert as i thought he would be easy to find on the 1841 census, but no sign of him!!!  I also cannot find his birth in any parish registers ... I know it was before it became a requirement, but he just doesn't seem to feature in any records like other people do.  Made me think he was actually born in another country?  Nina
