Carr mystery
« on: Wednesday 17 May 17 16:54 BST (UK) »
can anyone help with this please.
1901 Census William Carr boarding with the Wilson family aged 16 born Craghead 1885.
1891 Census William Wilson living with the Wilson family aged 6 born Craghead 1885. I have birth certificate of William Carr at Craghead.
My question is are these the same person also 1901 census shows a Jane A Wilson down as sister to Tait Wilson. Or is it the sister of William Carr as later census records show here born in Sunderland also. I have never been able to find the marriage of William Carr's parents another William Carr and a Mary Britton. Another set of eyes over this would be appreciated.
Regards David.

Marriage of Mary J Britton to James Wilson https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NFJS-YBF

Think 1891 and 1901 are the same William.

All children are siblings - Tate, William and Jane Ann have Mmn Britton. Not checked others at https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp possibly William is half sibling.

Likely there is no marriage to William Carr as she is still Wilson in the 1891 census.

1891 for info - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:WNQ1-4PZ image has her Mary J, and married...think Elizabeth Rolson is her firstborn dau.

1881 - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q271-DSL4

1871 - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V51H-M9X

Many thanks Cas. been looking at this for a few years now. My late Aunt said my great grandfather had been married three times may not be true. Have found out a lot of history from later in life but this always puzzled me.
Thanks again David.
