Your Mother's surname should show on your full birth certificate.

It would be useful to get Ivy's marriage certificate, just to confirm correct family, and try to confirm her birth.

This might be your grandfather, but that would make him quite old (40) at marriage (and there appear to be several children), so perhaps a relative:

   Thomas Christopher Dixon Smith
Baptised 19th March 1879 at St John's, Hull, York, England
Father:   Josiah Smith   Mother:   Eliza Ellen Austs Smith
FHL Film Number:   1657087  Reference ID:   item 1 p 211

I lived with my father Thomas Charles Smith and his wife Mary Elizabeth Smith at 8 Edwards Terrace, Waterloo Street, Hull, East Yorkshire England.
It was either from birth or from 3 years old. They forged my birth certificate. I was the love child of Maria (last name unknown) she is my mother and I was born to her around the 29th April 1950.
My mother Maria lived with my grandma Ivy May Smith (nee Glew) during her visit from Italy in 1949. She origionally came to find my Dad. They had origionally met during the 2nd World War in Italy where my dad was stationed.
my mother Maria lived at 188 Bewholme Grove, Marfleet, Hull England with my Grandma, sometime after my birth my mother Maria return to Italy and left me in England.

I have my forged birth certificate, my mother Maria is not on it. My dad, Charles Thomas Smith and his wife Mary Elizabeth Smith's name's are on it.

I still need to find out my mother Maria's last name and where she lived in Italy.

Do you mean that they actually forged the birth record, or that they supplied incorrect information?

Does your birth show in free bmd records?

Have you managed to find out ER's records for 188 Bewholme Grove to know who was living there (and registered to vote) and when? (You originally put that you wanted more information about your Grandparents)  Do you know when Ivy or Thomas Charles Dixon Smith died, and when your Father married Mary Elizabeth?

If you were born at the end of April, then you were conceived around August 1949 - was that in Italy, or when Maria came to England?

Do you know anything about your Father's war service and what parts of Italy he served in?

Sorry for all the questions.  I have infrequent internet access at the moment, so was hoping someone else could also help.

I understand they forged my birth certificate when my mother returned to Italy. I don't know how to trace my real mother because everything was covered up. It was considered bad in those days to have a child out of wedlock. there maybe evidence through the records of birth at Hedon Road Maternity Hospital in Hull, although most women had their children at home in those days.
I have no war records although I was told my dad served in Sicily and Italy. that was when he met my mother.
I agree I could have been conceived around August 1949 in Hull. (My mother had come over from Italy to find my dad). Thats if the forged records were acurate about my birth but i'm not sure at all on that point. I believe I was probably born at my grandmothers house, 188 Bewholme Grove, Marfleet. (Ivy May Smith, nee Glew)
I think my dad left his wife and three children to live with my Granny Smith and my Italian mother Maria. I was born, then my mother returned to Italy and my dad asked his wife if she would raise me as one of the family.

I am also still looking for my mother. She lived down Bewholme Grove with my dad's mam Ivy Smith (nee Glew) at number 188. my mother moved down a couple of houses either way. my dad's name is Charles Thomas Smith. I think I was born April 29th 1950. I think my mam was Italian and I think her name was Maria.

my email address is: 1bazsmith@gmail.com

my name is: Barry Christopher Dixon Smith.
