Not sure this is going to be the right connection - Catherine's parents listed as - Alexander Ryan 1872 - 1945 and mother Catherine Nailen 1871 - 1914 - Alexander remarried to Martha Don 31 December 1923 - Fallin, Stirlingshire, Scotland.

No this is not the right Catherine Ryan. As crazy as it is, there were two Catherine Ryans living that very small coalmining village, Fallin, Stirlingshire, and my Catherine Ferns Ryan, emigrated to the US just shortly after mother Mary Bonar died, going to Molly Mary Ryan, the one you documented. Catherine Ferns Ryan did nor return to Scotland that I know of. Her last address was 36C Block, Fallin.
A hint I picked up from An Ancestry browser was that she may have had a daughter called Doris, but no indication about a husbands name. The Ancestry member hasn't replied again to me. It was a private tree.
My documents hard copy are at home, wont get to themfor a little while. Isnt it amazing though what the records turn up!

Hallo Sandra, here is what I have on Catherine Ferns Ryan.
Born 22 December 1906 in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Emigrated to the US via on ship stopping in Canada to New York, where she was sponsored by her sister, Mary Bonar Ryan. She was born Bothwell, Lanarkshire, 1903.

Hi Kathy,

These are entries on the SSDI for Catherine with a birth date 22 December 1906 - if your Catherine passed away after 1962 ish when the SSDI was up and running - she could be one of these.  If she passed before that date it wouldn't cover that period of time.  Much to check out. None show a middle initial F or R for Ferns or Ryan
