NEWEY
« on: Friday 19 May 17 05:48 BST (UK) »
Hi team

Is anyone researching the family of Samuel NEWEY who married Mary MOORE at St Martin Birmingham 1771?

It looks like they had a number of children.  Does anyone have a full list of issue and Samuel and Mary's deaths.

I don't know if they are mine or not... yet!

tia,

bitzar.

Thanks Trish and ciderdrinker

Bit wet in Sydney today Trish!

I have 3 stray NEWEY's in Leicestershire with parents poss Samuel and Mary born in the 1790's.  2 of the children say they are born in Leicestershire.  1 of these 2 has a baptism, definite d/of Samuel and Mary.  The 3rd changes from Leicestershire, to Derby, to Warwickshire depending on the census.  Seems the children born 1790's fit with FS.

I also have a Mary buried 1815 aged 64 making her bc1751 so the perfect age for Samuel's wife.  She is buried at the same village in Cossington Leicestershire as the baptism for the daughter I found, but ciderdrinker has given me 3 possible Mary's which look like they don't fit with my Mary.

Also this family doesn't seem like the type of family that would have a father who was a 'Jeweller'.  They were labourers, etc.

Lastly I am really grasping at straws to link my 3.  1 has witnessed the other 2 marriage certificates.... There must be close link.

Many thanks,

bitzar.
