If you are trying to obtain death certificates in Canada, you need to know in which province the person died, as each province has different rules regarding accessibility.  Generally, anything newer than 50 years requires you to be the next of kin.

Thank you Eileen.  It's for Ontario and it says on the website that they are accessible to the next of kin, but if they have all died then a grandchild, niece etc. can apply.  Well I am the Great Niece so don't know if that would be OK.

They don't really look that closely if you can prove that you are related and they are deceased.  Do you have dates?

I do have dates but can't prove they are all deceased.  Shall I go ahead anyway - I can't imagine them demanding all the death certificates.

If you have dates and names, send me a PM.  I'm in Ontario and perhaps I can find an obit which may help.
