Can't see this Baptism, LAVINGTON
« on: Sunday 21 May 17 11:25 BST (UK) »

Frederick LAVINGTON was born in Christian Malford, Near Chippenham, Wilts in 1863.

I can't see a Baptism for him. Can anyone on here see one please?

On the 1871 Census he's at home in Christian Malford with parents Jonathan and Ann Lavington & children. On the 1881 he's still in Christian Malford and working as a Baker. On the 1891 he's a Police Constable in The Metropolitan Police, married to Elizabeth, (Née Saunders) and living in Kilburn with their daughter Maude. On the 1901, he's still in the Metropolitan Police, living in Lambeth, and now has six daughters. (They eventually had 12 daughters in total!)

Cheers, Romilly.

According to the Wiltshire OPC website, the Parish Registers are at Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre.
Bishop's Transcripts are at Bristol Record Office.

I suspect that, in common with most Wiltshire parishes, nothing online exists?

Perhaps Christian Malford comes under Chippenham? The DOB that I have for him is 1863.

Many thanks Frogspawn4!
That would explain why I couldn't find it.

Much appreciated, Romilly :)

You're welcome Romilly

I just used the name Frederick, date and place of birth - no surname.
I've used this method for a lot of mine that are easily open to mis-transcription. You do sometimes get a lot to trawl through - depending on where they are from but mine all seem to be from small villages so it works.
