Is there anyone near Trinity Church who could take a photo of my ancestors grave? Thanks

Hi

You may be better if you post the details.  Do you have a grave reference, is there a headstone.  Hopefully then someone may be able to help

No sorry I don't have any details. His name was Matthew Masters and he died in 1863. Does that help at all?

I was going to suggest that you contact the church to see if there was a headstone.

I have now found this which suggests it was closed for burials in 1853  :-\

This other thread relates ...
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=771988.msg6249018

There were plenty of burials in that parish after 1853 but, as already advised on the other thread, there are very few headstones. Most Londoners buried in the 1800s didn’t have a headstone, unless they or their descendants had a good deal of money. Do you have a special reason to believe he would have had one?

I’m afraid that disused London graveyards are not the easiest places to search, especially if you don’t know whether there is a stone to find.
