Thomas Story b: 1725 in Pocklington - d:1805 Warter
« on: Monday 22 May 17 06:45 BST (UK) »
Hoping some one can help, on Ancestry lots of trees have him married to Ann Hotham 1728 - 1784.
I have tried to find a record of the marriage in 1748 • Warter, Yorkshire, but can't find it. Also the trees say her father was William, I found a baptism stating her father was John. 26 Aug 1728 • Saint Mary Bishophill Senior, York, Yorkshire, England.

I was hoping some one might look at this with a fresh pair of eyes and be able to help me work this out.

Kind regards,

Jean

Hi Jean

According to the Water parish page on Genuki under whereabouts of the Parish Registers it appears marriage records between 1731 and 1753 are missing. And the Bishop's Transcript for 1748 is also missing.

So people have either assumed the marriage took place in the missing year or they have found the marriage via another document such as a marriage contract or a will.
