When Edward Dyson married Elizabeth Wright he was a widower of Stowmarket Suffolk, Elizabeth
was of Diss.
Witness George Coldham and Dorothy Wright.
Sorry should have put 28 August 1764 at Diss.

NRO also has correspondence and papers of John Dyson buying the Magpie at Wortham 1802, Chequers -Wymondham 1802, Inns at Aslacton and Tibenham 1803 etc. etc.
They also have the partnership agreement between John Dyson and Meadows Taylor, plus much more.

Yes - post 1800-ish, once they are in the sphere of the famous Taylor's of Diss, they're pretty easy to track. I'm working backwards from that, in the direction of "hard" :)

Norfolk Record Office
Will of Edward Dyson of Brockdish 1812, ref Will register Chamberlain 104
It's on Norfolk Sources image 3&4&5 but is mostly too faint to read, perhaps you can download it and maybe reverse image it
Otherwise see if the Record office can make a better copy.
Bottom of one page (image 3) I can read my sons and daughters  ? Dyson, John Dyson, Elizabeth wife of Meadows Taylor, Dorothy Dyson.
When he wrote his will Edward Dyson was of Brockdish, no doubt the same man buried at Diss 1812.

That's annoying. Even with enhancement the poor scan + jpg compression render it unreadable.
Still, I have enough other sources to be confident of the tree, and the will does at least confirm I'm looking at "the right guy"

It's always worth using plain old google.

I found this page:
http://www.genealogy.com/ftm/b/r/o/Simon-P-Brooke/FILE/0003page.html

On the roots side of things in January 2000 Gill McKenna made an intriguing discovery relating to Thetford that has the potential to explain both how the first Henry Dyson Brooke came to be an innkeeper at The White Hart and where the link with the Dyson family comes from. Gill tracked down an 1812 will of Edward Dyson of Brockdish who owned breweries in Diss and Thetford. Edward’s son in law was Meadows Taylor who was in partnership with a John Dyson at the Diss Brewery but to our disappointment, when the Thetford brewery was sold in 1837 there was no White Hart mentioned.

Thetford?! :-)

From Mr Brooke's other writings, it appears that Gill McKenna is a professional genealogist.

... delegate the job to a qualified researcher.  In March I found Gill McKenna.

Gill lives in Norwich and specialises in Norfolk families, although during the year has displayed a remarkable ability to research whatever location the family seemed to be resident at the time.  I am very grateful to Gill for her painstaking work in not just tracking down names, dates and locations but proving them with copy documents
