« on: Tuesday 23 May 17 14:29 BST (UK) »
Compiled by Stuart Farrell, FSA.Scot, from records held in the National Records of Scotland, the Scottish Genealogy Society has recently published: Strachan Free Church, Kincardineshire, Baptisms 1836-1924 (ref CH3/1295). Strachan Free Church was formed from the Disruption of 1843 when the Minister and Congregation of the Established Church joined the Free Church. Church and Manse were built in 1843. A hall was built on the Finzean Estate in the Parish of Birse in 1864, where services were held fortnightly in summer and monthly in winter. The Baptism register starts in June 1836 and gives the name of child, date of birth, parents’ names, occupation and residence (price £4.00 +p&p). This publication is available from our family history centre at Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh or our website: https://www.scotsgenealogy.com/Shop.aspx
