Hi

If you look at the top of the page you will see you are now posted on the SA board.  Rootschat members with knowledge of SA will hopefully be able to help you.

It may be a good idea to post some details of your late grandmother.  Name - where she was born -her birthdate and when and where she died

Home Affairs is the only place you can apply for a certificate from if she was born in South Africa.

Have you any way that you can check that her ID number is correct??

If someone has a subscription to Identitynumber you should be able to get her ID number. Here are the Mccomb names I could find but do not have a subscription to view the details. Link https://www.identitynumber.org/death-notices-results.php?surname=MC%20COMB
