Thomas GOLDSWORTHY
« on: Wednesday 24 May 17 23:11 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any information on Thomas Goldsworthy.
b. 26 Dec 1797 Wendron.
Son of: John Goldsworthy and Jane Knuckey.
mar. Christiana Bowden 29 May 1820 Constantine.
Father of: Jane, Harriet, Thomas, Henrietta, Caroline, William Henry, Harriet (2), Christiana, Alice Ann, John, Richard, James and possibly a Sally.
d. 10 Nov 1852 Trewenack, Wendron.
Occupation at time of wedding: Farmer

Was he baptised?
Did he leave a will?
Was he always a farmer?
Does farmer mean just growing stuff or was it horses or something he was into?
Anything would be helpful.

Thanks

It could mean anything from just having an acre of land and growing vegetables and keeping a couple of cows, to owning acres and employing several labourers. Unfortunately he is just described as "farmer" on the 1851 census and doesn't give the size of the farm or number of employers as it sometimes does, so there is no way of knowing unless you can find a will.

# Hayle.   That's in Cornwall but inscription dates  too late

Lancashire petty courts 1877 is unlikely
And

You ask if he was baptised but the date you quote for his birth - 26 Dec.1797 - was in fact his baptism date not birth date.
