« on: Thursday 25 May 17 06:26 BST (UK) »
In the 1870 Hays Co., TX census, listed is Drusilla McDonald, age 52, widow, and 3 of her daughters, Sarah, Catherine, and Emma.By 1876 the girls are in nearby Bandera Co. where they married with their brother Henry serving as witness. What happened to Drusilla? No burial listed for her in Hays Co. and cannot find her in the 1880 census.

Thanks for any info.
Sandra

Where is husband William buried?
Is the graveyard online, or perhaps as in many cases no stone marked their grave.

Husband William is buried, I am assuming, in Rusk Co.  There are 2 family stories as to how he died.  One says he was on the wrong side (in Civil War) and I don't know which side that would be, and he was hung over a well.  The other says he would not join the Jayhawkers and was shot and killed.  It may be that Drucilla remarried.  The reason she was in Hays Co. is apparently because her eldest daughter married and moved there.

What was her maiden name as sometimes people are listed with their maiden name as a middle name on death?

I do not know her maiden name as I have never found a record of their marriage, but I suspect it may have been Jones based on a marriage record I found in Arkansas (where they lived before moving to TX) of a William "McDaniel" and Drucilla Jones with a date which would seem appropriate.
