His father deceased was also called Thomas and listed as a  salt cake maker, my granddad was born 1867 so think link you gave poss not him, but thanks.

You said born c1869 according to 1911 in your original post which isn't far off from the 3 year old Trish found (or far off from born 1867 either)-

Possible?

Can you give me the name of the Child born/died 1905 so I can check Mothers mn on GRO Index?
Was he/she a Robinson or Kelly?

thank you both, even with a calculator I can't add up properly, yes it looks like you have definitely found him for me.

Hold up we are not totally sure yet if that is the right 1871 Census as his age varies so much.

In 1914 he was living in Manchester that is when my dad was born.

The child was William James, Mmn Robinson, I have confirmation that all 6 ofher children that I have found have the name Kelly and that the mothers Mmn is Robinson. Also 3 of the 4 of the children that had were born up to the 1911 census are listed as living with her and my granddad at the time
