My uncle's father married three times.
His first wife was Edith Caldecott, who is related to the artist Randolph Caldecott.
In an idle moment, I entered 'Randolph Caldecott' in freeBMD and got just six entries,
which seem to comprise an "immediate potted history" for Randolph.
(all very speculative, of course
)
Randolph was born in 1846, married in 1880 and died in 1898, leaving a pregnant wife behind.
The son was also called Randolph, he married in 1926 and died in 1966.
Like I said, very speculative, but it was quite amusing how it all turned up in one search and seemed to fit so well
